From Monday, April 24, to Friday, April 28, all fifth hour classes will be competing in a coin drive, put on by the Leadership Class for Pay It Forward Week.

“Pay It Forward Week” is a worldwide event culminating on Friday, with international Pay It Forward Day, aiming to inspire 10 million acts of kindness.  The week is dedicated to making a difference, through the ripple effect, with various acts of random kindness. The volunteer-started program will be including over 80 countries this year.

All proceeds go to Okemos Cares, an organization dedicated to helping Okemos schools with financial issues. These funds can help pay for things like club fees, homecoming dance tickets, etc.  Okemos Cares includes Project Prom, and they do a food drive at the beginning of the year.

Mrs. Harrod’s leadership class lead a coin in 2015, and is excited to be doing it again.

The winning class will also get a pizza party for raising the most money.

Throughout Pay It Forward Week, the leadership class will also, be hosting multiple small events throughout the school, all leading up to Friday.
