Writing club was recently founded by Abi Nelson (9).

Meetings begin with fun warm up activities and games for coming up with ideas, but the majority of the time is spent writing stories, poetry, or any topic the members choose.

After a writing session, members can choose to share their work on the club’s shared Wattpad, which is a writing community where users can post any form of writing they want.

Nelson is currently working on a book as her project during meetings. After the brainstorming and creative activities, the meetings become more focused towards each member’s individual writing.

While the club is still small, every member is friendly and enjoys to write to express themselves. They support each other’s work and promote improvements in writing.

“Writing is like an insight to the soul, so it’s nice to get it out on paper,” writing club member Katie Burkhardt (9) said.

There is no specific criteria to join other than the motivation to write.

Meetings are in room A110 every Monday after school until 4pm.
